A lawsuit has been filed by the Nicollette Sheridan, Former Wisteria Lane resident against the producer of the Desperate Housewives Marc Cherry and ABC. She claimed that she was physically assaulted by Cherry and upon her complaint she was dismissed from the show. The suit was filed on Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court in which assault and wrongful termination by Cherry and TV network ABC was alleged. The suit was filed a year after electrocution killed off Nicollette Sheridan’s character Edie of “Desperate Housewives”. She said that after assaulting her on the set, Cherry disposed off her character. In the suit she alleges wrongful termination, discrimination based on sex, gender violence, sexual orientation and age, assault and battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.


In 2009 her character as divorced real estate agent Edie Britt on the fictional Wisteria Lane ended. Sheridan said on Sept. 24, 2008 that at a rehearsal she asked question about the part of a script from series creator Cherry. As according to the court documents she said that he responded by taking her aside and he forcefully hit her with his hand on her face and head. She added that he came to beg forgiveness when she stormed off to her trailer.


She is one of the original cast members of the famous show. Now she is going to leave the show Desperate Housewives and the show is searching for a new Edie. According to a Hollywood reporter she is 46 years old and she is suing Cherry and ABC, ABC Studios, Touchstone Television for an amount of $ 20 million. In a statement ABC Studios said that while they had yet to see the actual complaint, they had investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit. No comment has been issued by Cherry till now.puggal
