Although not many people would into punk or rock n roll, they helped to form the face of music industry nowadays. Blink 182 would not exist if there are no bands like Bad Religion and Descendants – important US punk bands in 80s. Youth of today would only recognized Blink 182 as their punk figure without the will to dig deeper on the history. If we want to learn what punk is, we are talking about bands like The Ramones, Social Distortion, Black Flag, and later on Green Police.

No one would care at all about Green Police. We cannot blame them because there is not enough proof to trace this band. People would talk about Minor Threat and Bad Religion when they are talking about hardcore punk. But if we want to step further, we suppose to talk about Green Police either. At that time, Green Police is pretty much avant-garde punk band with lots of influences from early Buzzcocks, The Yardbirds, Black Lips, Ramones, etc. Following the trend of the era, Green Police would try different approach to their music.

They began to insert Surf, 60s rock n roll, and garage. This only made the Green Police richer and full of innovation. Unfortunately this band was disbanded not too long after they performed their first show. Although we cannot feel their impact, this band has helped American music find its identity through distorted sounds of social decline.
